Anatomy of the Pillars: the trajectory of the Israeli occupation, 1948 to 2026

Four rules, declared in advance

They apply to everything published here. Anyone who wants to challenge a conclusion should challenge the rule first.

Rule one

The adversarial source

Core figures come from official Israeli sources or international institutions. No Palestinian sources in the pivotal numbers, by choice rather than apology: a figure published by a party with no interest in exposing its own weakness carries more evidentiary weight.

Rule two

Three separated layers

A documented fact, a research estimate, or an opinion. Each layer is labeled where it appears, and none is dressed as another.

Rule three

No figure without a source

Where reliable data does not exist, that is stated plainly. And no prediction of dates, because no scientific model can produce them.

Rule four

Corrections are public

Old versions stay published, and every revision is logged with its date and reason. No silent deletions, no untraceable edits.
